Little Flamingos is closed today, December 18, due to the weather.

We have had some requests for lunch and snack ideas. Here are some our educators recommend. We will add to the list as we get more ideas from our families.

-cheese cut into cubes, sticks, or slices

-yogurt (there are a variety of ways yogurt is sold. You can get small individual containers, or tubes to squeeze, or you can buy a bigger container and put just enough for a serving in a reusable container. Whatever you & he like best.

-crackers/graham crackers/ goldfish crackers

-veggies (raw cucumbers, raw peppers, snap peas or shelled peas, steamed or shredded carrots are some popular ones)

-fruit-berries,apples, bananas, oranges, melon, grapes are popular. 

-muffins, tortilla, bannock, biscuit, naan bread, bread & butter, wow butter  or sun butter (made from sunflower seeds and is peanut free)

-bear paws or nut free granola bars

-bagel and cream cheese

-fruit  bars, fruit cups, fruit snacks

-leftover pancakes or waffles with or without honey or syrup

-eggs prepared however you like

-oatmeal -prepare at home and send in a reheatable container

-dinner leftovers cut in bite sized pieces

Our first Flamingos have arrived!!! We have had such a great morning filled with happy babies and children. Very few tears!

Feel free to take a picture with your little flamingos! One of our school age educators, Ingrid, did an amazing job painting this for us. If you want to see your child’s picture on our website please send us your picture with permission to share.

Our Grand Opening Celebration was a huge success!

Thanks to everyone who came out, especially those from RETSD, ELCC, our staff and families!

Our first day with children will be Wednesday, December 11th.

All children who are starting on the 11th have been contacted.

We are waiting to hear back from some families about their preferred start date.

We will be having our Grand Opening Celebration at 5:30, Monday, December 9th at our new location, Little Flamingos Early Learning Centre, 742 Ravelston Ave W.

We are thrilled to have our Provincial Licence to operate an infant/preschool childcare centre! We are ready to open!

We are grateful to Access Credit Union for donating $30,000 to us to assist with our start up costs. This grant will largely be spent on playground upgrades in the spring, and also helped us realize some of our dreams for opening. Thank-you, Access Credit Union!

We are having SO much fun setting the daycare up for all of the children. It’s like Christmas morning and birthdays all wrapped up in one big toy-fest!

We are excited to let everyone know that we are now in the building. It will take us several weeks to get set up and get our provincial license. Stay tuned for an opening date! Pictures coming soon!
