Toddler and Preschool Registrations have been sent out by email. Please return yours by June 7. Thanks!

We are starting our Sponsorship & Donation drive! The estimated costs for opening the centre exceed $200,000 and our anticipated government funding is only $33,000. Please consider making a charitable donation to us, or inviting your workplace/friends and family to donate or become sponsors. We will also be setting up gift registries at a couple of local toy shops over the coming weeks. More information will be available soon.

We have sent out registration packages to our infants today. Toddlers and preschool registrations will follow later this week.

Wishing our new team happy Week of the Early Childhood Educator! We can’t wait to get everyone together and start planning our programs!

Work continues on our new building. The drop off loop will be on Ravelston. The entrance is on the west end of the building. You can’t see the windows on this side yet, but the two corners will be our infant rooms.

We have lots of nursery school spaces available for fall at our Ecole Centrale School Age Centre site. Nursery school is a 2 hour twice a week program (some children come four times a week). You can choose mornings 9-11 or afternoons 12:30-2:30. Cost is $5 per class. You can email ecschoolage@gmail.com for more information.

We now have all of our spaces full for opening in the fall. We will continue to call from the waiting list as new spaces open in the future. Our waiting list currently has about 600 people waiting for space. We know there is great need for childcare in Transcona.

Our priority for enrolling children for space at Little Flamingos is as follows:

Parent/Guardian MUST reside within the River East Transcona School Division boundaries and

a) be employed by our centre or work at Ecole Regent Park

b) have older siblings enrolled in one of our existing programs

c) have older siblings attending Ecole Regent Park

d) have a parent/guardian employed by River East Transcona School Division

e) order of registration on the waiting list.

Please note that another factor determining placement in our centre is the child’s age. Infant spots are for babies age three months to two years, and preschool spots are for children two years to kindergarten entry. There are limited transition spaces available in our toddler room for children between eighteen and thirty months old.

We have now completed priorities a, b, c, and d. We are working on contacting families from the general waiting list according to the ages of their children and remaining spots available.

We have begun to contact families from the waiting list. Don’t panic if you haven’t received an email. We expect it will likely be early May before we get all of our spaces filled. We are busy multi-tasking with everything needed to open a new facility!
